2024 Irrigation Season Requirement
The District employs a reclaimed water irrigation system for use in open spaces and all residential properties. Reclaimed water use is regulated by the Colorado Department of Health & Environment and each system user is responsible to annually review the District’s Reclaimed Water Use Guides. Prior to using the reclaimed water irrigation system, each homeowner / resident is required to review the District’s Reclaimed Water Guides, available on this website at:

The Independence Water & Sanitation District’s Reclaimed Water Irrigation System will be charged and ready for use mid-day on Monday, April 15, 2024.
For 2024 the District has implemented the following irrigation restrictions:
- Irrigation of landscaped areas shall be limited to no more than three (3) days per week.
- Homes with addresses ending in an odd number shall only irrigate on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
- Homes with addresses ending in an even number shall only irrigate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
- Residential irrigating is not permitted on Friday.
- Irrigation shall not take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Runoff of irrigation water is not permitted. Please ensure that your irrigation system timers are adjusted – set to only irrigate on the correct days of the week and that individual zones are timed to prevent overwatering and runoff of irrigation water.
The District has adopted for 2024 an increased irrigation water use inclining block rate structure in order to encourage users to irrigate responsibly. The 2024 Rate & Fee Resolution can be found on this website at:
